The "Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education and Care Setting" course is a nationally recognized (AQF) approved first aid training program that meets industry standards. This course is designed for both the general public and workplaces that require staff members to be trained in first aid. Specifically tailored to satisfy first aid requirements for schools and registered children's services, this course incorporates elements from the "Provide First Aid" program, as well as asthma and anaphylaxis first aid management.

Assessment:
The "Provide Emergency First Aid" course includes both theoretical and practical assessment components. Participants must complete a pre-course learning
module for the theory component.

The practical assessment involves the following tasks:
- Perform CPR on an adult (including the use of an AED and placing a casualty in the recovery position)
- Perform CPR on a child
- Perform CPR on an infant
- Manage a child casualty with anaphylaxis
- Manage a child casualty with asthma
- Manage a choking child and infant casualty
- Manage a casualty with life-threatening bleeding and shock, including basic
wound cleaning for minor bleeds
- Manage a child casualty with a nosebleed
- Manage a child casualty with a fracture or dislocation
- Manage a child casualty with a sprain or strain
- Manage a child casualty with envenomation (snake or funnel-web spider bite)
Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this first aid course, participants will receive a nationally accredited statement of attainment.
